MyVariety 2026 Update: Hosting and Domain Services Transition
As we begin 2026, I want to share an important update regarding MyVariety and the direction of the business moving forward.
After careful consideration and a review of long-term sustainability, MyVariety has made the decision to fully discontinue web hosting, game server hosting, and domain services. As part of this transition, all hosting and domain-related services will end on February 1, 2026.
This decision was not made lightly. MyVariety has always aimed to provide reliable, responsible services, and this change ensures the business can move forward in a focused and sustainable way.
Hosting and Domain Services Shutdown Timeline
- Web hosting, game server hosting, and domain-related services will remain available through January 31, 2026
- All hosting and domain services will end on February 1, 2026
- No new hosting or domain signups are being accepted
- Services will not be extended beyond this date
Customers using MyVariety for hosting or domain services should plan to migrate their websites, services, and domains prior to the shutdown date.
Domain Transfers
If you have a domain registered or managed through MyVariety, you will need to transfer your domain to another registrar before February 1, 2026 to avoid disruption. Domains are registered through a third-party provider, and transferring them ensures uninterrupted ownership and renewal.
Additional guidance on preparing your domain for transfer will be shared soon.
Migration Assistance for Existing Customers
To help make this transition as smooth as possible, MyVariety will be offering discounted migration assistance to existing customers. This assistance is intended to reduce the burden of moving websites, email, or game servers to a new provider and to ensure data is transferred safely and correctly.
Details regarding migration options, pricing, and how to request assistance will be shared in a follow-up message.
Looking Ahead
In 2026, MyVariety will be shifting its focus toward new offerings and services that better align with a sustainable, high-quality, founder-run operation. These changes are currently in progress, and more information will be announced once they are finalized.
This transition marks a new chapter for MyVariety, and I appreciate the patience and trust of everyone affected by this change.
